Time to start our research!

 
To study the river water properties, we first have to collect it. You can't just lean out over the side, either. Even our English teacher, Ms. Davis, gets into the act.

One of the things we test for is salinity. The river becomes more or less salty depending on where you are and how rainy it's been. This is a refractometer, which is one way to measure salinity.

We also learn how to work in the rigging from Janine.

Dinner, then bed. I bet Henry Hudson's men would have liked to have a flashlight.
