Since the weather has been nice, some of us like to sleep on the weather deck (outside).  It's awesome.  It is quiet, the air is clean, the stars and moon are bright, and, the gentle rocking of the boat put us to sleep.

Today, some of us went out on the Zodiac to get plants and animals for the aquarium.  The land was very slippery and wet. The tide was out so we were walking on rocks that would normally be covered by water.  We had to be careful not to slip and fall on the sharp barnacle.  We collected a lot of cool stuff like crabs, small fish, barnacle, blue and brown mussels and different kinds of sea weed.  It was very cool and a lot of fun.

Again, we are working the capstan to bring up the anchor.  This is extremely hard because the anchor weighs about 800 pounds, with the chain.  The whole boat needs to work as a team to get this done.  It can take at least an hour.

At about 4pm we set sail to cruise around NYC bay. We saw the bridges in the East River, the financial district of the city, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We anchored off the tip of Manhattan at the Bay Ridge Flats. It was great to see the lights of the city at night.

At the end of the day, the captain sometimes lets eat and relax, enjoying each others company.
