On this Voyage of Discovery, the entire student crew collaborated to study the salinity and turbidity of the New Netherland waterways as the Half Moon traveled from Newburgh Bay in the Hudson River, out into New York Harbor, up the East River, out into Long Island Sound, concluding their research only after the ship reach New Haven Harbor.
