These cloud formations affect our work on the Half Moon in several ways. First, they can serve as an indicator of incoming weather patterns. Overcast skies can also make celestial navigation nearly impossible. This leg of our voyage started under heavy cloud cover, creating initial complications for the Celestial Tracking team. However, by the time we entered the Connecticut River on Day Three, the clouds had broken, giving the team two days to conduct their research.
