3rd Entry, 1034 Hours: As we enter the Connecticut River, the Salinity team keeps busy collecting and testing water samples. Other students like Liz lend a hand where they can, familiarizing themselves with the refractometer. The team soon discovers that the river's salinity levels plunge within a mile of the river's opening — no coincidence, then, that Dutch explorers called this the Fresh River!
