River Science: Comparative Temperatures

The study of comparative temperatures straddles the arenas of water and weather science. Students take temperature readings of the air using a digital thermometer. Simultaneously, they collect water samples from the water's surface using a canvas bucket and test it using a wet thermometer.

The students' goal is to discover if and/or how the air temperature affects the water temperature, and vice versa.

On this voyage, the research team of Alanna, Jose, and Tyron compared diurnal air and surface water temperatures for their presentation project.
