1st Entry, 1208 Hours: On shore, Mr. Lyke and Mr. Powell are putting the final touches on our tidal depth meter (also known as a giant ruler). Our stay at Peckham Wharf will allow one group of students to study tidal currents. This research project requires us to hold the ship at a fixed position, which cannot be done effectively while at anchor.
