It takes a lot of work to keep the Half Moon running. Our student
crewmembers take responsibility for many tasks on the ship--everything
from keeping watch, to taking soundings, to more adventurous work
(at right, a student is helping to furl a sail.) They also work hard
at learning about the river and Hudson's voyage. The adult crewmembers
supervise and teach the students, and perform the tasks that require
specialized training.
The 2004 Voyage of Discovery has two student crews, one for each
leg of the journey, and one adult crew. Click below to learn more
about the ship's company.
