5th Entry, 1353 Hours: Earlier in the log, we mentioned that we wanted to enter the East River on the flood tide. Well, that wasn't exactly true. In fact, we need to pass through on the flood; the East River's powerful currents would overwhelm our forward progress if we tried to travel against the tide.
